Interferometric Testing of any Optical Surface

CGHs generate almost any wavefront and expand the possibilities of the interferometer for testing form deviations of any optical surface. They also provide optimum results for the alignment of optical elements and testing of lens centration. Our experts calculate the diffractive optics of the CGHs with great precision, ensuring that the plane wave emitted by the interferometer is converted into a wavefront that is individually adapted to the inspection task.

Perfect Null Lens: DIOPTIC DNL

Our diffractive null lenses (DNL) are ideal reference optics for measuring aspherical or cylindrical optical surfaces. Testing free-form surfaces or aspheric-diffractive lenses is also no problem. By combining the CGHs with a spherical interferometer objective (transmission sphere, TS), almost any surface geometry and the overall performance of optical systems can be tested. Based on CGHs, we offer you test lenses for spherical and aspherical metrology.

DIOPTIC Technology for Interferometric Precision Alignment

The innovative method of interferometric precision alignment allows optical system alignment to be adjusted with an accuracy of a few micrometers. The individual optical components are aligned with pinpoint accuracy based on the multi-zone CGHs calculated individually for each system. Even systems whose detection spectrum lies far outside of the visible regime (e.g., radio telescopes) or whose operating conditions cannot be easily reproduced during production (e.g., temperature in space telescopes) can be adjusted with the same accuracy.

Testing Cylindrical and Spherical Surfaces with CGHs

Our diffractive test lenses are particularly suitable for testing large surfaces with large radii of curvature. For precision measurement of cylindrical and spherical surfaces, we offer CGHs with an integrated Fizeau reference surface named diffractive transmission cylinders (DTC), or diffractive transmission spheres (DTS), respectively. Testing of concave and convex surfaces is equally possible. This allows cylindrical and spherical lenses to be tested with high precision.

Our designs undergo a comprehensive review process. From the initial concept to completion, feasibility, ghost images of other diffraction orders, tolerance analysis, and “as-built” performance are considered at every stage. Each CGH is assigned a unique design and manufacturing report.
