WAVOS – Testing of Wavefront and Beam Deflection


Our WAVOS system is designed to test and evaluate the quality of optical components made of glass or plastic by measuring the transmitted light field. The high-precision measurement of the angular field and the wavefront enables the inspection of large samples as well as the batch inspection of several parts. Customized Systems for Angle Measurement

Our WAVOS system measures flat and curved panes as well as cylindrical shapes, protective covers or mirrors. Based on the spatially resolved angle measurement, further measured variables can be derived and used for the qualification of components. These include measurement of thickness variation, refractive power measurement, and refractive index. The test system can be tailored to suit specific requirements in terms of illumination wavelength, sample geometry, or automatic batch testing.

WAVOS enables the precise measurement of the topography and wavefront quality of a wide range of optics, including those made of plastic or glass. Its high precision, high lateral resolution, and large scanning range ensure accurate and reliable results.

Reliable Quality Inspection

WAVOS guarantees precise and reliable quality inspection and evaluation of optical components in accordance with ISO-10110-14 or customer-specific requirements. The system is used to inspect components not geometrically, but in terms of their optical effect according to their actual use.

Fully Automated Measurement

During the fully automated measurement of the angular field and the wavefront, various parameters are determined to identify mechanical or thermal deviations. Automatically generated test reports are designed for 100% control in end-of-line testing.

Precisely Fitting and Versatile Solution

WAVOS is extremely flexible and efficient in terms of test piece size or measurement wavelength. The easily adaptable trays and convenient assembly also contribute to this. Customer-specific software adaptations further extend the field of application.
